Affiliate Terms
Effective date: August 28, 2026
The short version. You earn 30% of what the people you refer pay us, less tax, for 12 months from their first payment. Each commission is held 60 days so refunds and disputes land first, and a refund or chargeback reverses it. Referring yourself does not count. Disclose the link as paid wherever you post it. Payment is arranged by hand and we are not promising a payout schedule yet, which is why this page does not contain one.
The full terms below are the binding agreement, and they sit on top of our Terms of Service rather than replacing them.
01Who can join
If you have a Highstyle account, you are already in. An affiliate link is created for your workspace the first time you open the Affiliate page in your dashboard, at active status, with no application and no approval step.
If you do not have an account, you can apply at highstyle.ai/affiliate. A person reads that application by hand. Your link works from the moment you apply and commission on anyone it refers is recorded while you wait, but none of it can be approved or paid until the application is, and if we turn it down none of it is payable.
You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and able to enter into a binding contract. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to your use of the site alongside these terms. One affiliate account per person: the link code and the email address on the account are both unique, so the first one to claim a code keeps it.
02Your link, and how a referral is tracked
Your link is highstyle.ai/r/yourcode. When someone clicks it we record the click and set a cookie that credits the visit to you for 90 days, so they can go away, think about it, and still count when they come back.
In the EEA and the UK that cookie lasts for the browser session only. We have no consent banner, and affiliate tracking needs consent there, so a visitor in those countries is credited to you until they close their browser rather than for 90 days. We also do not record an IP hash for those clicks.
What decides whether a signup is credited to you:
- The click has to come before the account was created. We do not attribute an account retroactively.
- An account that has already reached checkout with us is not attributed at all, to anybody, so the program pays for customers you brought rather than for ones we already had.
- An account is credited to one affiliate, the first whose click claims it, and a click our logging marks as a bot never claims anything.
- Where a visitor already carries somebody else’s referral, your click replaces it only when it arrives from one of the domains on your account, which are the ones you listed when you applied. That rule is what stops one affiliate overwriting another’s work. There is no way to edit the list yourself yet, so if you have no domains on file, or you start posting somewhere new, send it to us through the contact form and we will add it.
We cannot credit a referral we never saw. Blocked cookies, a link somebody retyped without the code, a click on one device and a signup on another: each of those loses the attribution, and there is no manual backfill.
03What you earn
You earn 30% of what a referred customer pays us, on every invoice they pay, for 12 calendar months from their first commissionable invoice.
The rate is applied to the money that actually arrived, less tax. Discounts are already in that figure because we use what was paid rather than what was billed, so a discounted invoice earns 30% of the discounted amount. An invoice that is entirely tax, or entirely covered by account credit, earns nothing.
12 calendar months is not the same as 12 payments, and the difference matters on an annual plan: an annual subscriber usually pays one invoice inside the window, and their year two renewal falls outside it and earns nothing.
30% is the standard rate and the one your account starts on. We can set a different rate on an individual account, in which case the rate shown on your dashboard is the one that applies, and it applies to invoices paid after we set it rather than to commission already recorded. Commission is calculated and recorded in US dollars.
04When commission clears
Commission is recorded as pending the moment a referred customer pays, and it sits on hold before it can be paid:
- 60 days from the payment date, which is the window most refunds and card disputes arrive in.
- 120 days when our payment processor flags that particular payment as elevated risk.
- An annual invoice is split into 4 equal parts released 60, 150, 240, 330 days after payment, because an annual subscription can be disputed for far longer than a monthly one. The parts are 90 days apart and sum to the full commission.
A daily job moves commission from pending to approved once its hold has run out, provided your account is active at that moment and the referred workspace has actually produced clips. That last check is there because a paid invoice from an account that never rendered anything is the signature of card testing rather than of a customer.
Approved means cleared and safe to pay. It does not mean paid. Where a payment was partly refunded, the part the customer kept clears on its ordinary schedule and the refunded part never does, so an approved balance is always what is left after every reversal recorded against it.
05Refunds, chargebacks and reversals
Commission follows the money. If a referred customer’s payment is refunded in full, or they win a chargeback on it, the commission on that payment is reversed in full. A partial refund reverses the same share of the commission and leaves the rest.
A reversal can arrive after commission has been approved, since a card dispute can land months after the payment. When that happens the reversal is recorded against your balance and comes off later commission. We do not invoice you for a negative balance and we do not ask you to send money back.
06How you get paid
Payment is manual, and we are not promising a schedule yet. There is no automated payout behind this program: no payment date, no payment run, and no method you can connect on the dashboard. What the dashboard gives you is an honest running total of what is pending, what is approved, and what has been paid.
The minimum we pay out is $50 of approved commission. Below that it stays on your balance and rolls into the next payment rather than being lost, and your dashboard shows how far off you are.
Once you are past $50, tell us through our contact form and we will arrange payment with you directly. We may need payment details and tax information from you first, including a W-9 or W-8BEN depending on where you are, and we may withhold tax where the law requires it.
You are responsible for your own taxes on anything we pay you. If we build a payout rail with a schedule behind it, these terms will say so before we announce it.
07How you may promote us
Disclose the link as paid wherever you post it. The FTC Endorsement Guides in the US, and the equivalent rules elsewhere, require a clear disclosure that you earn a commission, close to the link itself rather than buried in a description. You accepted this when you joined and it is not optional.
Post the link on the places you told us about, and tell us when you add one. Describe Highstyle accurately: what it does, what it costs, and what it produces. Do not present yourself as Highstyle, do not run accounts, ads or pages that could be mistaken for ours, and do not promise anything about the product that we do not.
08What is not permitted
Any of the following voids the commission it produced, and repeated or deliberate abuse ends the account:
- Referring yourself. Using your own link to sign up, or referring an account you or your household control. This is blocked automatically, and anything that gets past the block is void.
- Incentivised, fabricated or automated signups, and any traffic generated by paying people to create accounts.
- Setting the referral without a person deciding to click it: cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden iframes, automatic redirects, or browser extensions that inject the link.
- Unsolicited bulk email, DMs or comment spam.
- Posting the link where the platform’s own rules prohibit affiliate links.
09Pausing, ending, and what happens to a balance
You can stop whenever you like by taking the link down. Commission already recorded carries on through its hold and its checks.
We can pause an account while we look at something. While it is paused, clicks are still recorded and commission still accrues, and nothing is approved for payment until the pause lifts. If the review clears, the backlog is approved on the next daily run and nothing is lost.
We can terminate an account for a breach of these terms or for the conduct in section 08. Termination voids unpaid commission on that account, including commission still sitting on hold, which is why the list above is worth reading rather than scrolling past.
We can also close the program itself. If we do, commission that has already been approved at that point stays payable.
10Changes to these terms
We can change the rate, the hold, the window, or anything else in this document. Changes apply to commission that accrues after the change, and never retroactively to commission already recorded against your account.
The effective date at the top is the version identifier. We record which version you accepted when you joined, so what you agreed to stays recoverable rather than being whatever this page says today.
11General
Nothing here creates employment, a partnership, an agency or a joint venture. You take part independently, you decide how and where you promote us within the rules above, and you carry your own costs.
Your affiliate account is personal to you and cannot be sold or transferred. The disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law and dispute resolution sections of our Terms of Service apply to this program as well, and where the two documents disagree about the affiliate program specifically, this one governs.
12Contact
Everything about your account lives on your dashboard: the link, the clicks, the signups, and every commission with its status and its date. We send no automated affiliate email, so nothing lands in your inbox when a click arrives, when commission accrues, or when it is approved. Check the page.
For anything else, including arranging payment, use our contact form. It reaches a person, which an email to us may not.
